Apprenticeships
BSM are working in collaboration with various colleges to offer apprenticeship programmes. The apprenticeship scheme is designed by the government as a way to help young people, aged 16-24 into meaningful employment and training opportunities, and to help businesses grow and develop their workforce in a cost effective way. The minimum length of an apprenticeship programme is 12 months. The apprentice is employed by the employer organisation and must be given all the same rights and benefits as other full time members of staff, including holiday and sick pay.
In some cases employers may also be entitled to receive a Government grant which is an incentive to encourage businesses with less than 1000 employees to take on an apprentice
