Innovate UK are the national body who can fund large collaborative R&D projects. They have several innovation paltforms with regular calls on specific themes.

Smart Awards

SMART is a grant scheme which offers funding to SMEs to engage in Research & Development projects in commercially important areas of science, engineering and technology. The main aim is to enable these businesses to design and develop new products, processes and services.

There are three main types of grant available:

  • Proof of market
  • Proof of concept
  • Development of prototype.
